I temporarily gave up drinking 3 or 4 years ago and found myself with a lage amount of spare time, so needed to something to fill it with. We had a lovely Victoria Ashley wing back armchair which was in desperate need of re-upholstery, so I booked myself on some courses and the rest, as they say, is history.
